The company’s efforts to acquire quality beauty corporations led it to acquire Smashbox, a unique makeup brand of products based on ones used by a Hollywood photo studio. Ojon, another member company, is based in Canada and focuses on developing skin and hair care products using natural ingredients found in the rainforests of Central America.
Estée Lauder has entered into beauty and fragrance licensee agreements with a number of well-known names in the world of fashion, including Kiton, Tommy Hilfiger, Donna Karan, Michael Kors, Sean John, Missoni and Tom Ford.
The Company added a new item to its marketing campaign in 2004 by developing brands which would be offered through other distribution channels. These product lines include American Beauty, a line of skin care, fragrances and cosmetics for US consumers and Flirt!, a makeup line influenced by pop culture. GoodSkin Labs produces product which are fragrance-free. The Daisy Fuentes and Coach lines include body products.
